Aerodynamic and agile.

The 2024 GR86 is designed from the pavement up for track-tested and proven driving fun as designed and engineered by GAZOO RACING, Toyota’s global racing division. Circuit-ready credentials include lightweight materials, a low centre of gravity, a wide stance, and a driver-focussed cockpit with optimally-positioned controls and the use of toggle switches for tactile control. The 2024 GR86 features aggressive styling that is more than skin deep: from tip to tail, the body is designed to cheat the wind and elevate performance. Design flairs such as vertical air intakes up front, side sill spoilers, and rear wheel arch fins increase downforce to enhance grip.

Inside, the 2024 GR86 features a classic sport coupe 2+2 seating configuration, with deeply bolstered front seats that keep driver and navigator comfortable on long drives while firmly planted during spirited maneuvers. Drivers can toggle the digital instrumentation between multiple modes – including a Track setting, which presents real-time readouts of data such as gear position and engine speed to aid in instant decision-making.

 

 

Engineered to Thrill

Every 2024 GR86 model is built around a naturally aspired 2.4L Flat-4 boxer engine featuring Toyota’s innovative D-4S dual injection system and a 12.5:1 compression ratio for maximum power. This powerhouse delivers up to 228 horsepower and hits peak torque of 184 lb-ft at just 3,700 RPM, delivering powerful and sustained acceleration right off the line. The GR86 is offered in a choice of 6-speed manual transmission or 6-speed automatic with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

The 2024 GR86 features a light yet exceptionally stiff chassis, highly responsive electric power steering, double wishbone rear suspension, and an active rear sport differential. These combine to create an engaging drive on everyday roads while delivering impressive lap times at the track. Models equipped with manual transmissions can deliver 0-100 km/h in 6.1 seconds, while the automatic transmission can achieve 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds.

Fuel economy comes in at a manufacturer-estimated fuel consumption of 11.9/8.7/10.5 L/100 km (city/highway/combined) for the manual transmission and 11.1/7.7/9.6 L/100 km (city/highway/combined) for the automatic.

 

 

2024 GR86 TRUENO EDITION.

Just when you thought the 2024 GR86 couldn’t get any better, along comes the new GR86 TRUENO Edition. Performance upgrades include Brembo Brakes and Sachs dampers. This limited production model also features many exclusive styling cues – including TRUENO exterior and interior badges, black-wrapped hood, black door handles, exterior mirrors, and spoiler, black door/side panel graphics, unique black metallic 18” ten-spoke alloy wheels, a black interior with red accents, a unique shift knob, and TRUENO all-season floor mats and cargo tray. This model is offered in two 2-tone colour schemes: Halo with black and Track bRed with black. Only 50 of these special edition vehicles will be available in Canada.

 

 

2024 GR86 Technology.

Every 2024 GR86 is equipped with Connected Services by Toyota to keep driver in touch with the people and things that matter. All models include an 8-inch touchscreen display to interact with the Remote Connect, Safety Connect, and Service Connect features. This display audio system with 6-speakers also features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity, two USB ports, and integrated Sirius XM Satellite radio.

 

 

Next level safety.

A new addition for the 2024 manual transmission models is a standard Active Safety Suite. The system uses a stereo camera to monitor the road ahead and includes features like Adaptive Cruise Control, Pre-Collision Braking, Sway Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Lead Vehicle Start Alert and High Beam Assist. This system was previously standard on automatic transmission models only. The addition of active safety adds to Toyota’s Star Safety System, which includes Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Traction Control (TRAC), and more.
